Linda Mannheim is the author of three books of fiction: This Way to Departures, Above Sugar Hill, and Risk. This Way to Departures was recently shortlisted for the prestigious Edge Hill Short Story Prize.

Her short fiction has appeared in Granta, Catapult Story, 3:AM MagazineAmbit, Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine, Losslit, Litro, New York Stories, and Bookanista. She’s also done broadcast work for BBC Witness and KCRW Berlin.

Linda has been the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, an Authors’ Foundation Grant, and an Arts Council England grant.

She’s also been an exchange fellow at Kunstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf in Germany, a journalism intern in Nicaragua during the Contra War, and a visiting associate at the University of Cape Town's Centre for African Studies (where she wrote her first novel).

For many years, Linda worked with NGOs and community organisations to develop and fund new projects.

Originally from New York, Linda divides her time between London and Berlin.
